Position Description
 
The Quality Technician will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our products, manufacturing and assembly processes meet or exceed established standards. The Quality Technician will help execute QMS tasks/audits, keep statistics on Quality occurrences and help investigate root causes and implement corrective actions when issues arise.
 
Duties/ Responsibilities:
  
  • Help implement quality control procedures and processes for manufacturing, assembly and installations.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Obtain root cause data for quality-related issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Support actions of the Quality Management System.
  • Conduct internal audits to assess and verify adherence to quality standards.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement changes and drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the quality of incoming materials.
  • Work with suppliers to address and resolve quality issues.
  • Collect quality data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on key quality metrics
  • Provide training to employees on quality processes and procedures.
  • Identify and report non-conformances (NCs) in products, materials, or processes
  • Follow up on corrective actions and ensure they are effectively implemented and documented.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality control documentation, including inspection reports, test results, and non-conformance records.
  • Support efforts to improve product quality, reduce waste, and enhance production efficiency through participation in lean manufacturing or Six Sigma initiatives.
 
 
 
Required Skills/ Abilities:
  • Good understanding of quality management systems and methodologies.
  • Willingness and ability to work with hourly employees to implement actions.
  • Proficiency in the use of measurement tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges) and testing equipment preferred.
 
 
 
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or technical certification in a related field (e.g., Quality Assurance, Engineering, Manufacturing) preferred.
2+ years of experience in quality control, inspection, or testing in a manufacturing or production environment.
 
 
Work Environment This role is a hybrid role of working with suppliers, manufacturing, assembly and installation sites.  The role will have desk-base work, mobility within the office, manufacturing facility, supplier sites and customer sites will be required for meetings and interactions with colleagues.
 
Physical Requirements Prolonged periods either sitting at a desk working on a computer and/or interacting with workers on the shop floor. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times. Ability to traverse office, manufacturing facility and customer sites.
