Position Description:
The PreSales Controls Supervisor will have a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record in presales activities. The PreSales Controls Supervisor will play a key role in driving the success of our sales efforts by ensuring the presales team delivers compelling solutions to meet customer needs.
Duties/ Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of presales controls professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Provide guidance, support, and coaching to controls estimating team members to enhance their skills and effectiveness.
- Develop and implement presales controls strategies to support overall sales objectives.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to align presales controls activities with business goals.
- Oversee the presales controls process, ensuring the team effectively engages with customers to understand their requirements and challenges.
- Participate in key customer meetings and presentations when necessary.
- Work closely with the presales team to design and present tailored solutions that address customer needs.
- Ensure solutions align with the company's product capabilities and competitive strengths.
- Collaborate with sales managers to support the sales team in achieving revenue targets.
- Participate in the development of sales collateral, including presentations, proposals, and case studies.
- Identify training needs and opportunities for the presales controls team, providing ongoing training to keep the team's skills up-to-date.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, solutions engineering, and customer support, to ensure a cohesive and unified approach to customer engagement.
Required Skills/ Abilities:
- Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Results-oriented with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Familiarity with material handling solutions design.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering).
- Proven experience in presales activities, with a focus on solution design and customer engagement.
Work Environment
This is primarily a desk-based role, requiring extended periods of sitting and computer use. While the role is mainly desk-based, mobility within the office, manufacturing facility and customer sites may be required for meetings and interactions with colleagues.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Ability to traverse office, manufacturing facility and customer sites.
