Never Fall Engineer

Figure is an AI Robotics company developing a general purpose humanoid. Our Humanoid is designed for corporate tasks targeting labor shortages and jobs that are undesirable or unsafe. We are based in Sunnyvale, CA and require 5 days/week in-office collaboration. 

We are looking for a Systems Integration Engineer to make our humanoid robot never fall.

Responsibilities: 

• Track, triage, root-cause (with cross-team help as needed) and document robot falls
• Test and validate fixes to falls across mechanical, software, controls, electrical, and firmware
• Develop test scripts to perform fault injections and failure analysis
• Collaborate with cross functional team to improve robot stability and reliability

Requirements: 

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronic, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Depth in one or more of the following areas: controls, firmware, mechanical, or electrical
• Software development experience in C++ and Python
• Experience with complex electrical-mechanical systems
• Hands-on experience, previous project or internship experience

Bonus Qualifications: 

• Prior experience working robotic systems
• Prior experience working with humanoids
• Prior experience with torque and force sensing technologies
• Prior experience with actuators
